My name is Father Huett Fleming. and I am the Rector at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church located in the Pittsburgh neighorhood of Hazelwood.
I have been the priest at this inner-city parish since August, 1998. We are a Biblically conservative parish, and we believe in the authority of Holy Scripture. The Church was founded in 1872, and we have worshipped continuously at this same church building since 1891, when the cornerstone was laid. The church is architecturally unique, has beautiful windows, and is also a Pittsburgh Historic Landmark.
I began my seminary education at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, I transferred in my second year to Trinity School for Ministry, where I completed the requirements for, and was awarded a Masters of Divinity degree.
Prior to becoming a priest, I worked in business for 25 years at major corporations in Human Resources management. My call to ministry, although initially coming to me while a teenager, fell on ears that could not believe God would call me to ministry, when I had so much else to do in my life. But, that's another story.
I hope you will join us for worship, and we look forward to meeting you.
